>>REGISTER NOW<<Substance Use Disorder in Older Adults: The Latest BuzzWednesday, May 22nd at 8:00 AM CT (See this event in your local time)Hello IPA colleagues, With global population aging, and drug legalization happening in many countries, older adults are using recreational and prescribed drugs with the potential for harm at increasing rates. The morbidity and healthcare costs associated with substance use disorders (SUDs) in older adults is significant. The intersection of the stigma of addictions, ageism, and diagnostic overshadowing often leads to underdiagnosis and undertreatment of SUDs in older adults. This session will explore global patterns on substance use among older adults, strategies for diagnosis and treatment of SUDs in older adults, and share resources and tools for your clinical practice. We will also review some special populations, such as SUDs in people with dementia. Prof. Myrra Vernooij-Dassen, PhDChair, IPA Webinar Series Webinar Presenters-
