2020 Impact Factor Announced

Recently Clarivate Analytics released the 2020 Journal Impact Factors (JIF) and for a third consecutive year, International Psychogeriatrics saw significant growth with a 32% increase from 2019 Impact Factor of 2.940 to 3.878 for 2020.

As you may know, Clarivate announced major changes in their metrics calculations this year:

“Journals with Impact Factors may see their citation count increase this year as a result of Clarivate’s inclusion, for the first time, of citations from ‘Early Access’ (FirstView/online-ahead-of-issue) articles in this year’s release. Although these same FirstView articles will not be counted in the denominator of Impact Factor calculations this year, new FirstView articles will be counted in the denominator from 2021 and forward.”

With this change, a number of respected Journals also saw significant increases in their JIFs:

  2020 JIF 2019 JIF % Increase
International Psychogeriatrics  3.878 2.940 32%
International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry  3.485 2.675 30%
Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders  2.959 2.310 28%
American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry  4.105 3.393 21%

A highly respected, multidisciplinary journal, International Psychogeriatrics publishes high quality original research papers in the field of older adult mental health with a global impact. International Psychogeriatrics also features important editorials, provocative debates, literature reviews, book reviews and letters to the editor. The Journal is now ranked #17 of 77 in Psychology (SCIE) and #7 of 36 in Gerontology (SSCI).

Published twelve times per year, an electronic subscription of International Psychogeriatrics is included with each IPA membership.
