Call for Input: Ageism, Age Discrimination, Human Rights of Older Women

IPA Members - Call for Input:
Deadline 22 March 2021

Shared on behalf of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights: Mandate on the Human Rights of Older Persons, the following two calls for contributions have just been issued for their upcoming thematic reports in 2021:

Report on the causes, manifestations and prevalence of ageism and age discrimination
Builds on their 2020 report on COVID-19
See the full post at: https://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/OlderPersons/IE/Pages/AgeismAgeDiscrimination.aspx

Report on the intersection between ageing and gender and the specific human rights concerns and challenges faced by older women:
See the full post at: https://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/OlderPersons/IE/Pages/cfi-human-rights-of-older-women.aspx

We have heard from members for over a year (and have compiled numerous resources) on the impact of COVID-19 and social distancing in regards to older adult mental health. This is an opportunity to ensure mental health is not left out of either human rights or ageism conversations.

Both calls are open until 22 March 2021 and contributions are welcome in English, Spanish or French.
