GENERAL INFORMATION

About Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, city and capital of Argentina.  Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.

Registration Desk

The registration desk is located just up to stairs at the entrance of the main foyer and will be open during the following dates and times:

26 September 8:30am – 5:30pm
27 September 8:30am – 5:30pm

Exhibition Hall and Poster Hall

The poster hall is located in the Foyer Gran Panamericano and will be open during the following dates and times:

25 September 12:00pm – 6:00pm
26 September 9:00am – 6:00pm
27 September 9:00am – 6:00pm

* Poster presentations take place on Thursday and Friday from 11:45am – 12:30pm. See the poster list for additional information on posters.

Opening Session/Cocktail Reception

The Opening Session will be held at Buenos Aires Marriott Panamericano North Room from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, followed by a Welcome Reception in the Los Jardines Room.

Long Term Care Visits

A very popular feature of IPA meetings is the opportunity to visit and learn from local colleagues at a care facility. The Organizing Committee has scheduled two off-site visits to two local facilities.

Dress Code

Business casual attire is requested for all scientific sessions and functions, unless otherwise stated

Badges

Delegates and guests are requested to wear their name badges at all times during the Congress and social events, for security reasons.

Certificate of Attendance

If you require a certificate of attendance, please email info@ipa-online.org and they will email you one after the Congress.

CME Accreditation

Physicians

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and International Psychogeriatric Association. Wireless internet service is available throughout the Buenos Aires Marriott and is free of charge.

Meeting Room Protocol

Every effort will be made to ensure that sessions start and end on time. Presenters and congress delegates are all asked to work together to achieve this. This may mean having to quickly end a valuable discussion. However, the Congress organizers request cooperation for the benefit of all delegates and hope you will take the opportunity to continue discussions after session outside of the room.

You are not permitted to make sound or video recordings or take photographs during sessions. We request that all mobile phones and/or pagers be turned off or set to silence before entering sessions.

Liability and Insurance

Please do not leave bags, suitcases or any personal belongings unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls.
