Call for Applications - IPA Editor-In-Chief

Candidate Position Description

The Editor-in-Chief of the IPA Bulletin is appointed by the IPA Board of Directors to manage the publication of IPA’s newsletter. The Editor will manage the solicitation, review, and editing of all content for the IPA Bulletin. The Editor is responsible for the development of the philosophy, policy, and direction of the IPA Bulletin, and is accountable to the IPA Board of Directors. The Editor may appoint Deputy Editors and Associate Editors to the Editorial Panel with the approval of the IPA Board of Directors. The Editor is accountable to the IPA Board of Directors on all scientific and editorial matters. The Editor will consult with the Treasurer and the IPA Secretariat in the financial management of the newsletter and must seek approval for all changes which will affect the overall budget. The Editor will consult with the IPA Secretariat on all matters related to the administration of the IPA Bulletin and its publication on the IPA website. The Editor will serve a four (4) year term, which is renewable for one additional term upon the mutual agreement of the IPA Board of Directors and the Editor.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the timely publication of IPA’s newsletter, the IPA Bulletin.
Manage the Editorial Panel and work with the IPA Secretariat to publish each issue.
Solicit, review, and edit articles and other content.
Work with Deputy Editors to plan upcoming content and special issues.
Appoint members of the Editorial Committee with the consent of the IPA Executive Committee.
Meet all content and editorial deadlines.
Select content for special emphasis or inclusion on the IPA website, social media, or other publications.
Maintain contact with the IPA Secretariat regarding delays, special content, and changes to the editorial committee.
Contribute to reports on the IPA Bulletin for the IPA Board of Directors and the IPA Executive Committee and work with IPA leadership to set goals for the future of the publication

Applicants please submit a CV, Statement of Interest, brief bio, and professional photograph by 20 January, 2024. The Editor-in-Chief who will make recommendations for approval by the IPA Executive Committee will review applications.  Please send all application materials to jkowalski@ipa-online.org by 20 January 2024.
