Management of BPSD using Psychosocial Interventions

Are you a clinician (in particular a nurse or allied health professional), or researcher interested in Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD)? Are you challenged in how to manage the symptoms of dementia using a person- centered approach? Then this workshop is designed with you in mind and in particular if you work in nursing home or sub- acute aged care.

Facilitators will engage you in discussion and information on how to define and measure BPSD in clinical practice and research, how to manage symptoms such as wandering and sexually inappropriate behaviours, and how to use robots and technologies to comfort and reduce agitation in people with dementia. Workshop participants will also have an opportunity to "try" a robot within the workshop environment.

The presenters are social scientists, all highly recognized for their research and practice and the facilitators include two internationally recognized nurse scientists specializing in BPSD.
