IPA Luigi Amaducci Memorial Award – 2005 The Luigi Amaducci Memorial Award, administered by the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA), honours a living
physician, researcher or clinician whose research in neuroscience, particularly in neurodegenerative disorders, has contributed to
notable advancements leading to a greater understanding of the therapeutic area, the establishment of diagnostic criteria and/or
the development of a novel therapeutic strategy. The Amaducci Award is sponsored through an educational grant from Novartis
Pharma AG and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, in conjunction with the Novartis Foundation for Gerontology
IPA Awards for Research in Psychogeriatrics The IPA Awards for Research in Psychogeriatrics will be presented during the 12th International IPA Congress in Stockholm.
Established in 1989 for the best original unpublished research in Psychogeriatrics, the IPA Awards have encouraged the pursuit of
relevant and important research efforts. Awards have been given for currently acknowledged, groundbreaking work that has
benefited health care professions worldwide. Past award winners include many scientist who have demonstrated outstanding
leadership in the field.
In conjunction with the other activities of IPA, these awards have succeeded in helping to lead the way towards the important
goal of improved mental health care for older persons around the world. Past award winners include many scientists who have
demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field. Awards will be granted solely on the merit of the research
presented. Junior researchers from all cultures and nations are encouraged to apply. Three awardees will receive economy fare,
accommodations, and registration to the 12th International Congress, Stockholm, 20–24 September 2005.
Award winning papers will be presented at the Congress and will be published in IPA’s official journal,
International Psychogeriatrics.
The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2005.
